Up the Fal

After a brisk beat in a NW wind, we moored on pontoon up the Fal
This morning,  on a rising tide we explored up to Malpas,  passing the boat Park!

Over to the Helford River now for a day’s pootling.

Dittisham to Salcombe

Lovely evening

And this morning we visited Agatha Christie’s Greenway house

And the boathouse

And a gentle cruise down river

Before a force 6 forced us south to work the wind and tide, before punching into short seas, and diving into Salcombe as a safe haven

Glorious sail from Weymouth

Slipped into bright sunlight playing over the town and Portland Bill

Picked up speed to 10.4 knots over the ground,  speeding past Anvil Point and Old Harry rock

Swung into Poole Harbour,  and into the marina,  now half price! Excellent,  and good to have Peter join us, with Tim leaving on the morrow.

Dartmouth to Weymouth

A long day, leaving Dartmouth at 0700

Light winds, which increased nicely,  and we realised we would be too early to get round Portland Bill.

So Hove to( Brighton 3) for a couple of hours. Easy inside passage led into Weymouth

Moored under the bowsprit of a galleon
